FAQ’s

Where is the conference located?
The conference is located on the campus of California State University, Fullerton. Fullerton is a city in Orange County, California, about 25 miles South East of Los Angeles. Our city motto is “The Education Community” because of California State University, Fullerton’s strong relationship with the city.

How do I get to the conference venue?
Multiple airports service Fullerton, although all three require a shuttle ride to the University. Los Angeles Airport (Airport code: LAX) is by far the biggest and the farthest away. If you are traveling internationally, this may be the best option for cost and ease of access. It will require a 1 hour shuttle ride (depending of course on the famous L.A. traffic).

If you are traveling within North America, John Wayne Orange County Airport (code SNA) and Ontario Airport (ONT) are closer and reasonably priced options worth exploring. The shuttle ride will be shorter (20-30 minutes depending on traffic).

We recommend for those of you not local to Southern California to stay at the Marriot Fullerton, the conference hotel. Once there, you will not need a car as everything is in walking distance.

The conference sessions will be held at the Titan Student Union Conference Center, located on the west side of campus off of State College Blvd. For those driving to the session, parking will be located in the lot adjacent to the TSU. Permits will need to be purchased for those parking on campus.

Can I stay in Los Angeles or outside of town?
It is possible but not recommended. Because of the commute, traffic, the complex freeway system here, it is best not to stay too far from campus once the conference has started. Commutes to L.A. can be upwards of 2 hours during rush hour traffic. For that reason, we recommend staying at the conference hotel or nearby in Fullerton.

What is there to do besides the conference?
In case you need anything more than sport philosophy to entertain you or are traveling with partners or family, Southern California is full of fun things to do. There will be a number of conference-organized activities but for those needing more, there is plenty. Between L.A. and Orange County, there are approximately 8 professional sports teams (baseball, soccer, and basketball) nearby. Orange county also has amazing beaches, and L.A. offers a wealth of museums and Hollywood. We have many theme parks in the area (Disneyland is just a 8 miles away from the conference hotel). If you plan on adding some extra time, we are happy to help suggest activities to suit your needs and make arrangements.
